The Set Design – Books, Balloons & First Birthday Magic

For this Chapter ONE Cake Smash Canton GA, we created a clean, bright setup layered with colorful children’s books, soft neutral banners, and a balloon garland in blues, yellows, and creamy neutrals. The “Chapter ONE” banner tied everything together perfectly.

The books added so much personality. From classic favorites to bright, playful covers, the backdrop felt joyful but not overwhelming. It was colorful in the best way — intentional and meaningful.

Sweet Blue Eyes & Smash Time

He truly was such a doll baby. Those big blue eyes just melted me.

He was curious. Gentle. A little thoughtful at first. He explored the cake slowly, feeling the frosting between his fingers before really diving in. And honestly, that’s one of my favorite parts of First Birthday Photos North Georgia — watching their little personalities shine through.

This session included my Smile & Smash package, so we captured those sweet pre-cake portraits first (which were precious), and then moved into the smash. The neutral cake against the colorful book backdrop photographed beautifully.

And those frosting-covered lips? The cutest.
